A NEW YEAR’S WISH FOR GOOD HEALTH 2024

Krakens and Ravens and feathers and charms

Homemade holy water for backyard farms

Long ago stirred cauldrons for world harmony

Now it’s for healthful serenity

Into the aethers I send my song

Chords blanketing us, what could be wrong?

Bones and tones and colorful smoke

World filled with strong and erect folk

Whatever you believe for enhancing the days

Share with the moon and sun’s healing rays

Sing it, strum it, drum it too

Use prayer or science or loving Hoodoo

Elemental love of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water

We are the universe’s sons and daughters

Heal…heal…heal…

WINTER SOLSTICE 2023 ELEMENTS

Started with a tree

Grown from a Walmart wannabe

Decorated with ball and ribbon, you see

Planted it on Spring Equinox with herb tea

Thanks, EARTH, dug from the road called Santee

Days before, AIR so stormy

Gusts 50 miles screaming like a Banshee

Yet my meager decorations oh, such cheapies

Managed to hang on without a whimper, staggeringly

Sending the message “Be brave” to very-worried me

Then WATER rained down like a lost sea

Buckets needed inside for that roof so leaky

Yet from past experience I knew what would be

Rainwater: loved by plants, the gardener’s key

And then it stopped, seemingly easily

And the clouds cleared up so I didn’t flee

Watching the FIRE spiritually

My face and arms osmosising lots of Vitamin D

The Sun Stood Still admiringly

As Winter Solstice set all living things free…

    WINTER SOLSTICE SUN TEA 2023

Stuffing my mason jar

With Holy (Tulsi) Basil

And naturally sweet Stevia

Herbs grown lovingly

Mixed with natural well-water

Sun tea to celebrate

Another Winter Solstice

But Tarot’s #14 Temperance

Suggests balance

So the drink is pure

But the peppermint bark candy bar

Hidden in my hoodie pocket

Adds just the right touch

To ultra-sweet-tooth cravings

But oh, those calories

But, butt,  I’ll dance them off

In tonight’s waxing moonlight

Singing The Beatles’

Here Comes the Sun

Simultaneously welcoming

The shortest night

Of the solar year

Presenting an all-star sky

Crystal clear…
