Slavic Summer Solstice

Celebrated with bonfires but Water is important too

Scientifically, think of the

Tropic of Cancer sun

Directly overhead at noon

Cancer is a Water sign so it is the yin and yang of opposites

Water is mutable, changing

Raining this morning as we astrologically move

From Gemini to Cancer

Water plentiful here in the subtropics

Mixed with heat and humidity

Steam (Air) and Earthen gifts complete the perfection of elemental balance

Baking cranberry bread and dancing to the best rock music

Woven with world folk music is my celebration

Black-eyed peas (lucky Southern beans)

Are harvested too

The legume’s bean-eye

Protecting us from evil

While looking at you

And me

Seems to wink joyfully

Health and Happiness
